Depression treatment and future planning

I am under medication for depression for last one year. I used to take 200mg of Quitipin SR which my consultant has now reduced to 50mg. I have changed the city recently and taking consultations only through phone. Now I am heavily dependent on the medicines. I want to know how long do I have to be under medication? Also, we want to plan for our first child now. Please suggest what could be the right time for this considering my medicines. I want a second opinion.

Hello Friend, Good that you are seeking a help here. I am sure you must be aware that medication is just one part of the treatment like depression. It mostly helps in controlling or suppressing the emotions, however still your thoughts or triggers are uncontrolled. In parallel you need to start few mindset change exercise or psychotherapy to manage your anxious thoughts which is the actual root cause for your depression. Better consider  such alternative along with few lifestyle changes, dietary changes along with counseling support to see a permanent cure. Feel free to reach out to me online or call for further evaluation and recommendation. Be positive. You will be alright soon.
