It seems you are studying in college and cannot focus on studies due to your pervasive low mood. Also, your social life is affected remarkably.
If the duration and severity of feeling lonely, helpless, hopeless and decreased self esteem is too long and if it's disturbing your routine life then you should seek professional help which includes medicines from psychiatrist and psychological counselling.
Secondly, you can do certain things for yourself. For example, everyday you need to write in a nice diary, at least three good or positive things happened to you ( you can write more then three)e.g. Making up phone call to some old friend, caring about family, cooking food at home, helped someone etc. Also, try to see some positivity or positive options in your negative life situations. This will change your perspective to look towards life and writing down three good things will bring optimism in your life.
Finally, you need to write down the factors that make you dependent and try to analyse the reason behind each factor. Now just try to cut down each dependency factor one by one, slowly, over the period of time so that you can able to do whatever you can do for yourself. After eliminating even a small dependency of yours try to appreciate your efforts by treating yourself something you like. Enjoy your own company by making a new creative hobby, try to learn new things and always try to focus on what you can do rather whatever you cannot!
