Dear Dr. My mother does not have sufficient bones in jaw bone. What are the options she has ..? Open for any suggestions

Implant supported denture would be best option. It would need 2 3 implants in lower jaw. Denture would take support from that. You can get simple denture also but that would be a bit loose.

We can look at areas where the bone is present and place the implants. Usually we place 6 implants per jaw. In the absence of sufficient bone, it is best to go for removable options. If we can place just 2 implants, we can make implant supported dentures which fit firmly and do not cause the discomfort found in conventional removable dentures. Basal implants should be used with utmost caution. Please consult an oral surgeon implantologist

Basal implants would be the best viable option. She can have immediate teeth after it. Conventional dental implant or bone grafting is a very long process and u get teeth after say 6-8 months. Moreover Bone grafting is not a sure shot thing. I have heard a team of AIIMS,new delhi doctors are performing it with excellent results at Pune. Visit them. For details contact Face maxillofacial and dental hospital Ahmedabad.

There is always an option for even the diverse situation. I am sure some 3D scans or an X-ray have been done since you are stating there is no sufficient bone. Do post or upload those images of the 3D scans and X-rays here in this forum. You would be suggested with good options by clinicians here.

Hi , There are multiple options to replace missing teeth (dentures, bridges , implats, basal implants  - very less bone required, no need for grafting) . would have to see an xray (OPG)to tell you what options are available for your mother. Please email me an xray so I give you suggestions specific to her case.

First you need to visit dentist get all diagnostic procedures done. If less bone is available then first conventionally removable dentures can be made. Still if you want only implant treatment to be done then bone augmentation is the option. Then there are lot options for implant retained fixed teeth or removable teeth.
