All ceramic and metal ceramic are two types of crowns used in Dentistry. The ceramic is in many different forms like powder, Ingot and Disc. Different combinations of Alumina fluoro silicate glass, kaolin and silica are used in these ceramic powders , lithium di silicate and zirconium oxide are other types of ceramics used in Dentistry in Ingot and Disc form used for milling crowns.

Metal ceramic crowns have an inner metal which is covered by a ceramic layer.
All ceramic maybe zirconia, translucent zirconia,monolith or e max and are generally termed as metal free crowns.
Depending on the area of crown placement your dentist will decide the best suitable option for you.

Hi, ceramic crowns are usually of two types
One - Metal layered with ceramic to give tooth like appearance
Second only ceramic- zirconia or lithium disilicate is used to fabricate crown.
