Doctor, I had gallbladder surgery in March. I usually do not have any problems but sometimes stool occurs once in two to three days or the stomach does not get cleared. I feel equally hungry .It has been almost a week now and my stomach is not getting cleaned properly.Stool is passed on the third day but not properly.I had gas in my stomach last night and could not sleep the whole night. Nothing special happened today either. I passed a little stool last night but a lot of gas was formed and it is coming out very little. Please Tell me what should I do? Because of this, I am having a slight headache and feeling gas in my stomach. please reply ASAP

Hi there. Bowel irregularity, gas entrapment, and bloating are recognized post-cholecystectomy issues due to shifts in how bile acid enters the gut. The headache you are feeling is a frequent secondary reaction to abdominal fullness and poor sleep from trapped gas.   Increase your fluid intake, add warm fluids in the morning, incorporate high-fiber fruits like papaya, and engage in light walking to encourage intestinal motility.   For a tailored prescription including safe bowel regulators and gas-relieving medications suited for post-surgery care, feel free to book a direct consultation with me on Practo, or reach out directly on WhatsApp at six three six nine four six zero five seven seven.

Your symptoms sound most consistent with constipation and trapped gas; gallbladder surgery several months ago is unlikely to be the direct cause. Increase water, add fibre gradually and walk daily, but avoid repeated laxatives without advice. If this persists, you need an examination and medication review.
Next Steps
Seek urgent care if you develop severe or worsening pain, repeated vomiting, marked swelling, blood in stool, fever, or cannot pass gas. Otherwise arrange a review soon; you can book an online consultation on Practo for tailored treatment.

A few days of harder, less frequent stools with gas and bloating is usually linked to diet, hydration or movement, not to your gallbladder surgery from months ago.
Next Steps
Increase water and fibre-rich foods gradually, and add a short daily walk. If this doesn't ease in a few days, please get an in-person check, especially given your fatty liver history.
Health Tips
Seek care sooner if you develop fever, vomiting, worsening pain, or blood in your stool.
