Daydreaming

I am suffering from daydreaming from last many more years. I always visualize a different story in the back of mind, it's not related to my work. It is some fantasy...like I am a great leader of the national or business man. I am doing simple private job..10-6PM. It's disturbing for me always except a few time it works as a motivation. Some time can not recall that what was the story going on. I can not share it to any one because of I know its make me fool. If you can suggest something it will be great help for me. Thank you. Have a nice day...

I can understand your present condition very well. You want to kick this habit out of your life because you have got addicted to this habit and it has started interfering with your day to day activities, which would be affecting you very badly. But this habit is attached to your lifestyle like a LEECH. But don’t worry, “When a problem takes its birth, at the same time its solution also takes its birth.” “Every problem has a solution” So, now lets start from the basic question, “Why do you daydream?” or “Why do you want to live in the Fantasy world?” The only reason due to which you are daydreaming is “You are not enjoying your present properly”. You have set big aims and objectives to achieve. You want to be famous just like your idols, whom you admire very much. You want to have same qualities just like your idols have. Your dreams are so big, that you yourself know that you have to really work hard to achieve your dreams. When you come to know about truth and reality, that it is really hard to achieve your big dreams, you become sad and depressed. And in order to get rid of your sadness, you start searching for temporary happiness. In search of temporary happiness, you enter into the world of fantasies or the world of daydreaming. Its just like watching a 3D movie in which you are watching yourself achieving all your big goals due to which you get thrilled and enjoy this habit a lot. Now lets come to the point about how to stop this habit. Following are the points to stop this habit: - Firstly, you have to start living in present. You have to make yourself understand that this habit is not good for your future. Stop feeling embarrassed, that you are a daydreamer.Everybody has the habit of fantasizing. It depends on you,how to control your habit. Always make the habit of thanking god for whatever you have got in your life.Stop remembering about all negative things and think about positive things. Remember one thing my friend, that if you are living your life as a burden, you are only making your life hell and you will not be able to achieve your goals. So I would advice you to JUST CHILL AND ENJOY YOUR LIFE. Automatically, you will succeed in achieving your big goals.

Hi there. I know it takes a lot of courage to accept our challnges and to seek help. It's great to know that you have some level of awareness of what you are doing and how it impacts. Daydreaming is something that everyone does including kids. It's a way for our unconscious thoughts and feelings to express itself. Sometimes it could be things you want to achieve or what's misssng in your life. Daydreaming could even help you solve problems and plan goals. However, like you rightly said it can be disrupting when it becomes excessively out of control. It would be good to understand the bigger picture and assess different aspects of you as an individual and your life. Your general moods, professional life, relationships, physical health, environment etc.. That way we can know the root cause and work on replacing daydreaming with more positive or adaptive actions. Start with psychotherapy or counselling to get a better insight of what triggers this and how you can rewire your thoughts and feelings.
