While breast feeding uterus contracts and mothers feel a little discomfort or pain .Its protective to mother as uterus is trying to contract and reach its normal size even reducing the postdelivery bleeding. It is usually bearable.but if lot of discomfort contact the delivery centre and do a sonography to rule out if rarely any bits of placenta or membranes left behind.was it a cesarean delivery then less chance but contact ur gynaec

Hello This is normal It is the hormone released during breastfeeding which helps the uterus to go back to its position So you might feel cramping pain while feeding This may last for 1.5 months till uterus goes back to its original position. Consult if pain is not bearable Regards, Dr Pooja Kolhe
