Consultation For Transmission Of HIV
I touched a rs 100 note and after that I applied lip balm on my lips and after that I realise that I did not wash my hand then i immediately wiped my lips with handkerchief and then applied sanitizer on my hands and on lips also i used dettol sanitizer 70 percent alcohol. Can this transmission hiv? I'm worried that maybe that note had some infected body fluids

Even if a person with HIV had handled that note, the virus would already be dead by the time you touched it. HIV is transmitted only through specific direct routes: unprotected sexual contact, sharing needles, or mother-to-child during childbirth/breastfeeding. Touching a currency note and then touching your lips â even without washing your hands â carries absolutely no HIV risk whatsoever. The sanitizer you used was entirely unnecessary for this concern, though it is good hygiene in general.
