Three days without a bowel movement despite Duphalac and Movicol suggests the constipation is significant and the stool may have become hard inside. To help initiate a movement sooner, a glycerin suppository is often very effective and safe for children — it softens the stool locally and triggers a movement within 15-30 minutes. Ask for the pediatric size at any pharmacy. Ensure she drinks plenty of water throughout the day and eats soft, fiber-rich foods like papaya, bananas, or well-cooked vegetables. Encourage some physical movement as well, as it stimulates the gut.
Next Steps
Try a pediatric glycerin suppository today if no movement. If no stool in the next 24 hours, please take her to a pediatrician for examination. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
