Hello Doctor, My husband has a right knee ACL tear, 2 weeks before. We are suggested for arthoscopy. But we are confused about the technology to be used. Some suggest all internal traditional Arthoscopy and others arthoscopy with fibre wire/thread. Please suggest advance technology. Age 31 year, weight 100 kg. Height 6.1 ft.

Arthoscopy is a standard procedure. It is a minimal invasive procedure. Technology, and Equipments for arthroscopy per se are same used all over. The graft site, type and fixation methods vary. This is discussed by the surgeon before operation.

Your husband will.need an arthroscopic ACL reconstruction using his hamstring tendons. Because of h is weight I would recommend using an additional support called the fibre tape.

Arthroscopy ACL reconstruction is needed for him. Graft will be hamstring graft. We use additional tape/ thread for more strength to the graft.
