Clavicle fracture
Clavicle has been fractured after accident and doctor has advised a sling to restrict arm movement. Fracture does not require surgery as advised by orthopedic. Is it normal for clavicle to move slightly even after wearing sling? When i stand my clavicle is in certain position but when i lay down it changes position again and even in certain movements of the body the broken clavicle keeps shifting. Its a mid shaft clavicle fracture. Kindly let me know if movement is okay or normal or any way i should completely immobilise it.

You need complete rest and immobilisation for six weeks and needs some medicines and specific physical exercises after six weeks

It is impossible to completely immobilize a fractured Clavicle in only a sling or brace. However most Clavicle fractures do unite in a sling without surgery. Since it's not completely immobilized in a sling some movement will be there till the time that the fracture starts getting some callus after which the mobility will reduce & fracture will eventually unite
