Hello, My mother is 65 years old recently had a chronic asthma attack. She was on Ventilator for 6 days. Her lung capacity during a previous PFT test was only 28%. She is gradually recovering and doing lung exercise using a respirometer (the one with 3 balls, shes able to lift the yellow ball to half). The other problem however is shes having a lump near her ear and using FNAC analysis it was fount out to be a Pleomorphic Adenoma. The doctor advised that it should be removed surgically ( by superficial paratodictomy) Considering her age and her asthma is it a good decision to undergo surgery. I heard that General Anaesthisa has some serious effect on asthmatic patients. Is it ok if we don not undergo surgery. Will she be okay. I am really scared. I am also attaching the discharge summary and the FNAC report.
