Chronic and recurrent sore throat

I am having sore throat or tonsillitis from past 4 years and no antibiotics have treated it so far ...and i am very worried about rheumatic heart disease , can my strep throat lead to rhd ? What is the Treatment now ?
Strep infection leads to Rheumatic fever and then heart disease.

Do a Throat swab examination and do Culture & sensitivity testing..
If strep positive do , take antibiotics according to c/s report.
Consult a cardiologist and do an Echocardiogram.

It is imperative to get a correct diagnosis first, was any testing done to confirm strep throat, not all sore throats or tonsillitis is strep throat. In a duration as long as 4 yrs it's unlikely to be strep throat but rather chronic tonsillitis which can be confirmed with detailed history, examination and throat swab if needed.
