Test in march and test in October showed chloride level 109. It should be within 107. All other electrolytes are fine. Creatinine and kidney / renal profile is fine. I take ppi and gaviscon everyday for gerd and gastritis. Have iron deficiency. No other medicine or condition.

Chloride ion slightly high not be much concern Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), which are often used to manage conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and gastritis, can potentially lead to iron deficiency. PPIs reduce stomach acid production, and this can affect the absorption of certain nutrients, including iron. Over time, it may result in lower iron levels in the body.
