A child responds in different ways to stress. Unlike physical stress, emotional stress is invisible and often more painful. Your daughter might be responding to that stress by her behaviour.
Try and talk to her one on one. Take her for a visit alone, do what she likes for a couple of days and you might open her up emotionally. Get to know what really troubles her, is it her school, friends, teacher or her step father. Once you know you can work constructively or seek help from a child psychologist.
