Cervix lissue in 29th week of pregnancy

I am 29th week pregnant, during my 28th week scan doctor told cervix length is 2.8CM and internal os cervix is 2.2mm open.During 29th week scan doctor told cervix is closed now and cervix length is now 3.1CM .Is it possible cervix length can adjust dynamically ? I am just confused.
