I had a scan at 11 weeks 4 days my cervical length was 31mm at that time. Before that at 8 weeks scan it was 41 mm. My doctor does not seems to be concerned as she says that above 2.5 is good. But I am concerned about decrease in cervical length. How can cervical length decrease so much. She directly asked me to come for scan at 18 weeks. Should I have a scan in mid and go for anamoly scan only . This is my first pregnancy.

Please share your full obstetric history. How many children do you have earlier? Did you have a Caesarean or a normal delivery? Any difficulty in doing iD&C done earlier. You should consult your Gynaecologist with this information. A cervical length of 31 mm per se doesn't need any treatment but analysed in relation to other factors it may need treatment.

Your  doctor is absolutely correct in advising that the length of 2.5 CM Plus is normal trust your doctor and put your fears at rest You don't need a scan in between
