Cavity and rct
I have an ongoing cavity infection due to which i am having severe toothache, am i supposed to treat it with antibiotics first then go for RCT ?

As you have pain and infection in your teeth it will be better to take antibiotics for 3 day course, this is given so that if the dentist is planning any procedure as Root Canal Treatment or Extraction of the tooth, the anaesthesia will work properly there.
If the infection has not subsided chances are that you may experience pain during the treatment, but if you have already taken antibiotics the pain may not be there and your procedure will go on smoothly and be successful too.

cavity infection will not be resolved with antibiotics… it needs treatment by a dentist.. so dentist will take an x-ray and will advice the best treatment possible .

Reason of pain is decay and subsequent infection. It is a continous process. You need to treat the cause of pain and disease. Antibiotics are supplementary to treatment. Antibiotics will not help you much.
Start antibiotics 1-2 days prior to RCT and complete the course.

If there is infection and pain , it must be controlled by medication so that root canal treatment can be carried out safely
If pain persists discomfort will be there and treatment cannot be done correctly

Hie..dear if u have pain then go for an antibiotic course for 3 days( after bf and dinner)...then consult dentist he or she will take an x-ray after that he will evaluate whats the condition...either needs to do rct or an extraction...
