Yes you can . . . Points to Remember: 1.Have small frequent meals with a maximum gap of 2 to 2 ½ hours between meals. 2.Whole fruit is better than fruit juices. 3. Avoid white sugar and rich desserts. 4. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily 5. Try to avoid artificial sweeteners like sugar free, splenda etc. Use stevea leaves for sweetening purposes 6. Sweets made at home with stevea leaves like carrot kheer, lauki kheer, sandesh,or an anjeer, a piece of fresh date can be included. 7. Have a cup of hot water 15-20 minutes after your lunch and dinner. 8. Have sweets as a separate snack rather than after lunch or dinner. U can have it as a evening snack or mid morning snack, once a week. 9. Have a regular walk or exercise schedule for at least 45 minutes. 10. Avoid junk food, rather go for healthy options while eating out like salads, soups, south Indian, Chinese vegetables except fried ones, subway, whole wheat vegetable sandwiches, baked vegetables, normal plain chapatti, vegetables and dal(avoid dal makhni and rich gravies). Avoid continental cuisine. 11. Keep changing cooking oils every two months- canola, sunflower, rice bran, olive, soyabean. 12. Drink a cup of hot water 15-20 minutes after every major meal. 13. Atleast a gap of 3 hours is essential between dinner and bedtime. 14. Keep your dinner light, avoid high protein foods at night after 9 pm like paneer, dals, chana , rajma etc. 15. Include 1-2 tsp of coarsely ground flaxseeds in your diet daily.
