Can I shift to electric toothbrush?

2021-06-14 08:19:25
I have mild gingivitis that occurs every few months in the front teeth of my upper and lower jaw. I am considering moving to using an electric toothbrush instead of a manual one. But I also have tooth fillings in my molars. Is the electric toothbrush safe to use on them? Or will the vibrating motion erode the fillings as well?

Good evening sir, It is totally safe to use electronic tooth brush in fill tooth. Just Do brushing in up and down motion. It is least damaging and most efficient brushing technique.

Yes you can go for an electric toothbrush. It will help you with gingivitis but remember, to keep your teeth clean your brushing technique matters more than a toothbrush or tooth paste. For proper brushing technique you can watch the video in the link below: https://youtu.be/YjzGF6MTtB8 And your electric toothbrush will not harm your dental fillings.
Next Steps
Consult online or visit dentist every 6 months

Hello, Yes you can definitely switch to electric toothbrush, it’s safe & as you said, you keep having gingivitis, which is particularly due to lack of proper brushing/ or I should say, due to using incorrect technique. It will be easier for you to manage the condition with electric toothbrush. It will not cause any harm to the fillings.
Health Tips
Brush twice daily.
