Hello there,,,,well your question has two distinct parts,,,,1st is how can
calcium deficiency be found & what are the subsequent treatment.....there are two major & popular methods to find out regarding calcium deficiency namely BMD(bone mineral density) & sr calcium level along with VIT D.
BMD scores of anything -1 and above are considered normal while those below it come in the category of deficiency namely osteopenia and -2.5 under osteoporosis in BMD a probe is usually moved over your shin and the computer results are obtained....while in the conventional Sr calcium and Vit D you will have to give a blood sample for the test to be carried out.(common practise).
If at all you are found to be calcium deficient then diet along with certain calcium supplements can be started.
Dairy products and organic yougrt is a great source
Non vegetarian sources like sardines, mackerel and organ's(but this contains high amount of cholesterol)
vegetarian sources like Tofu,brocolli,cooked spinach
Fruits like oranges.
But the best is atleast 15 exposure to sunlight(without sunscreen)
