Attached is the x ray of my broken bone Could you please let me know if surgery is the only solution for this.

You have a comminuted fracture ulna in presence of a intact radius. This fractures has to be operated 100% as intact radius won't let this fracture to heal. Act now and get it operated.

It is better to have surgery- sometimes fracture moves more. If it not healing in good position- you may loose rotations
