Milk production can still improve even after 1 month postpartum. 👉Neither insulin nor corticosteroids at replacement/therapeutic doses are usually the main cause, although maternal illness (ITP, diabetes), preterm delivery, stress, and delayed or infrequent breast emptying can contribute to low supply. 👉Ensure effective breast stimulation by breastfeeding or pumping 8–12 times/day, including at least once at night, with skin-to-skin contact and correct latch. 👉 If the baby is unable to suck effectively, use a hospital-grade double electric pump after feeds.
