Hi doc, my son was born on 24 March 2019. He try to latch but as my nipples are flat he is not comfortable in direct breast feeding. So I have to pump out my milk and I feed him through bottle and I hand express my milk. So is it ok to feed him through bottle and if I use manual pump will it reduce my milk production.plz help

DON'T START ON BOTTLE FEEDING, its harmful for the baby- LOW IQ, Increase the chance of allergy /asthma, require more hospital admissions and will get more infections if allowed on bottle feeding. try to retract the flat nipple with the help of breast feeding counselar or pediatrician meanwhile try to feed the baby on normal breast. if want to give expressed milk use PALADI(DIA) or katori or cup.

expressing milk will not yield the same amount of milk as it would when the baby suckles on the breast. you can try feeding through a nipple shield. also avoid bottle feeding, since that would create nipple confusion and cause even more problems when you attempt breastfeeding. moreover the chances of infection are high with a bottle
