Clinical breast examination to assesd the lump is essential. If the patient is young...a sonography can be done and if above 40 years...sono mammography is the investigation of choice. In case of any suspicion...an MRI breast can detect very early lesions accurately...provided its done from a good tertiary hospital who are experienced in breast mri.

Any breast lump must be evaluated... See a good general or breast surgeon, or oncologist...

Not all lumps are cancers. However to investigate this lump, get a mammography of the breast done and meet a surgical oncologist. He will de is a whether to biopsy it or not. I also don't know your age.
