Boil on upper arm

Developed a boil much below my armpit on the left side around 10 -12 days back it was very painful since the start took medicine Bactrim ds and doloral for 7 days now the boil has punctured and the pus has drained out but still it has not cured completely and the pain n slight redness is still there should I continue this medicine for more time or pls advise any other medicine

Hello, I think a proper Incision and Drainage is required as there might be still some  collection of pus which is mediating these inflammatory reactions. Switching to antibiotics wouldn't help much as a thorough drainage of pus is required. Even color of pus is not be examined to know the nature of organism and then we need to select an antibiotics accordingly

You will need loner duration of medicine. As there is no improvement withbactrim ds, its better to change the antibiotics.
