Bloating and hernia

I am suffering With bloating since one year. After consulting doctor he gave some medicines and asked to take abdomen scabbing. Then i was diagnosed with a small hernia in February. The doctor said it wasn't too big dnt worry about it ,just use some medicines. After 4 months exactly the day before day when i went to doctor because of my stomach ache i wanted to consult doctor once again. He asked me to take scanning again. In that report it was given as there is 9mm hernia. The doctor told us to better do a operation to avoid further complications. And sugar levels are also ok (FBS-120 and PLBS-186)as per the doctors concern. Now i am bit confused and tensed about the operation. Do i really need an operation for that small hernia?? Please tell me and help me out of this.
