My mother went blank today morning, she is forgetting things. Now also she doesn’t remember a lot of events and keeps asking repeated questions Consulted neurologist, he diagnosed absence seizure She doesn’t even remember we went to Dr Just want to ask will she be okay because she can’t remember events and ye long term toh nahi hai? If you have any idea CT came normal , he asked to get EEG done Any chance of it recurring again? Also Dr prescribed epilex chrono 300 twice a month, is it safe to take?

You need to be more elaborate CT won't show much & this is not age for memory loss You should first go for MRI brain  first followed by EEG if needed

In Absence seizures - pt might not remember event that occurs during or immediately after seizure. It usually doesnot cause memory loss. Your mother needs to be evaluated with EEG, MRI and other tests
