Bilirubin 8.9
My daughter born on 13 Dec and by 19 Dec her bilirubin has come to 8.9 and 8.1 direct and indirect .. I m ONegatjve and she is B,+. She is on breastfeed and we give her sunlight daily for about an hour.. M really worried what to do. Shud we ask paediatrician to give her phototherapy. She sleeps mostly and poops at least three to four times a day.. Plz suggest

Your daughter is absolutely fine. 90% of babies get physiological jaundice and only a small percentage of them require phototherapy when the bilirubin level crosses the physiological range. It usually peaks at day 7-8 and ends by 2 weeks. Exclusive breastfeeding is best for your baby and sleeping 16-20 hours a day.
All u need to confirm and let me know is that was the direct bilirubin 8.9? Indirect bilirubin is expected to rise.
