Wait 2 to 3 hours after a full meal before going to bed or lying completely flat. This gives your digestive system time to process food, significantly reducing the risk of acid reflux, heartburn, and bloating. If you must rest shortly after eating, follow these guidelines based on your meal size: Large meals (600+ calories): Wait at least 3 hours. Moderate meals (300-600 calories): Wait at least 2 hours. Light snacks (under 200 calories): You can lie down after 30 to 45 minutes.

It is generally recommended to wait at least 30 to 45 minutes after a meal before lying down, and ideally 2 to 3 hours for a full night's sleep position. Lying down too soon after eating can cause acid to flow back into the food pipe (reflux), leading to heartburn and bloating. A short 10 to 15 minute walk after meals is very beneficial for digestion and helps the stomach empty faster. If you must lie down sooner, lying on your left side is better than the right, as it helps slow acid reflux.

Hi, it's best not to lie down right after meals. Wait at least 40 minutes (ideally 3 hours) before lying on the bed for good digestion. A short gentle walk after dinner helps a lot. Feel free to consult for further guidance.

After eating, lying flat immediately is not good, because food can come back upward and cause acidity, gas, sour burps, or heaviness. Simple rule: Light meal: wait 30–60 minutes Normal lunch: wait 1–2 hours Heavy dinner: wait 2–3 hours If acidity/GERD: keep 3 hours gap You can sit, study, walk slowly, or recline with pillows after food. Just avoid lying completely flat right away.

After meal you should wait for atleast 2 hour before lying on bed. Because food atleast to be shifted to duodenum. In stomach if food is there and if you lie down food will reach to oesophagus and you will feel acidity and heartburn .
