Beets have something in them called betaine. Which help in fighting heart disease, or promoting optimal protein synthesis within the body.
Next Steps
people who consumed unusually high amounts of carrot or beet juice may be in trouble because they may have a higher rate for developing thyroid nodules as  high amounts of nitrites can correlate with certain risks.smaller amounts are not harmful because the food itself is not defined by just one piece of the puzzle.
Health Tips
The appropriate dosage of beets is 1/2 cup in a cooked or juiced form and servings should be 2/3 times per week

Beetroot is loaded with nutrients to help the thyroid. It is rich in betaine and helps the liver break down and eliminate harmful chemicals and toxins. Consider steaming , raw and roasting rather than juice in order to maximize the nutrient potential and provide the greatest benefit. Actually Beetroot juice contains no fiber and 0% of the daily recommend amount of vitamin C. Raw beets have a bit more vitamin C and fiber.
