New plaque formation will not stop and has to be taken care of by the patient by meticulous brushing so that the results of scaling can be maintained for a long duration of time.
Gum Paints can be prescribed as temporary solutions to reduce the inflammation of the gums by causing astringent like action but they should not be used for a very long time because they do not cure the problem of inflammation as they are not removing the plaque and definitely have the tendency to darken the teeth also.
