Bad breath, as rightly adviced, can be due to various reasons. Coated tongue, unclean cheeks, gum disease, deep cavity or even certain medical conditions also cause it. Keep the tongue clean as suggested with a soft bristle toothbrush and gargle with a chlorhexidine based mouthwash. Also unconventionally chewing on a gum will help, but try using a sugar free one. Hope this helps or else visit a Dentist for a more thorough evaluation and understanding. Smiles

Hi , causes of bad breath(halitosis) are many including the coated tongue, dont use conventional tongue cleaners..many tooth brushes are available these days with tongue cleaner on the opposite side of the head of tooth brush, u can use them ..also get an advice from a physician to rule out any gastric causes for bad breath..u can use mouthwash if ur dentist prescribes them..best of luck feel free to ask ne further queries..take care

You should visit your dentist for a through oral prophylaxis I.e. complete cleaning of your mouth. You may try cleaning your tongue with your brush after brushing as an adjuvant to your tongue cleaner. Aggressive use of tongue cleaner may lead to abrasion over the tongue. You may also try some mouth wash as an adjuvant to control bad breath.
