Hi, My b12 <50 so basically I am deficient, but my blood CBC all measurements are in normal range. 1. Is there any thing I should be concerned about. 2. It seems I have had deficiency of B12 for years now, what affects it could have done to my body? Thanks

Vitamin B12 has other roles also, in addition to proper Haemopoiesis. So your CBC is normal but you will never know the status of your nervous system. It is better to take supplements and keep your B12 level within normal range.

It's unusual for vitamin B12 to be around low 50 pcg and CBC results are shown normal. At this level you definitely show symptoms of B12 defeciency and blood test abnormalities I suggest you to repeat cbc and vitamin 12.If confirmed  follow the treatment

injections intramuscular(CYANOCOBALAMIN) 1,000 μg/day for 7 days, then 1,000 μg weekly for 4 weeks, then 1,000 μg monthly for life OR High-dose, daily oral cyanocobalamin at doses of 1,000 to 2,000 μg are as effective as monthly intramuscular

As u mentioned above, ur b12 level r very low. U r required to take injection of b12 at the earliest to avoid damage n issues to ur nerves at the most. Kindly do consult a nearby hospital/clinic or general physician.
