Hi, If you suffer from panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, unrelenting worries, or an incapacitating phobia, you may have an anxiety disorder. But you don’t have to live with anxiety and fear. Treatment can help, and for many anxiety problems, therapy is a good place to start. Certain types of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure therapy, are particularly beneficial. These therapies can teach you how to control your anxiety levels, stop worrisome thoughts, and conquer your fears. You have wonderfully taken a step to seek help, now take the next step of discussing about your problem in detail with a mental health professional. IF you started medication you will get relief in symptoms soon but medication will go on for sometime. Psychiatrist drugs are safest dont worry about side effects but yes, learn to manage symptoms through therapy as again even on medicine sometimes symptoms crop up. whom are you consulting in mumbai? consult with me or any psychologist for counseling & therapy & anxiety management. connect with me through practo app for a Session. all the best more power to you 🙂

It’s good that you seeked help. Question is how much better do you feel with treatment? Share details of medication taken to discuss about it.Anxiety and depression are seen due to neurochemical disturbances and hence need treatment & counselling to be better. First episode of depression in a patient that responds well to treatment is treated for a year if patient recovers with it. Similarly, anxiety is treated for 6 months.. Every person with psychiatric illness responds differently to medicine.
Next Steps
Try relaxation techniques that can be taught by any mental health professional
Health Tips
Be regular with treatment Dont self medicate Follow up with your psychiatrist
