Hi... Typically, Psychiatrists prescribe medication based on diagnosis and Psychologists conduct Counselling/Psychotherapy. Some Psychiatrists also practice therapy but their approach may be different.
For Anxiety, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) will work well. If Irritable Bowl Syndrome (IBS) is because of severe anxiety, it will also get better. But if the root of IBS is something else, it will require medical attention.
