Hi... Please consult a Psychiatrist if the frequency and intensity of your suicidal ideations are high.
Typically therapy must help but if you have taken therapy and not found it helpful. It will be better you consult a Psychiatrist first.
In your case Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) will work well. Do find a good Psychologist when you are ready to try a new therapist. When you start taking Counselling Sessions from a Psychologist, come with a mindset of 15-20 sessions minimum taken on Weekly basis for 45 minutes duration each. Therapy works best in the longer plane of time.
Therapy in your case may extend from 6—8 months to 1 year, depending upon the severity of your condition.
