Antibodies in THYROID.Is thyroid Curable
I am suffering from THYROID which was detected 7 months back...my TSH and THYRONORM dosage is as follows :-

In opinion of my ALLOPATHIC doctor...if thyroid is because of antibodies present in blood medicines(thyronorm) has to be taken for life time.
While my HOMEOPATHIC doctor says its curable but takes 1 to 2 years.
In my Thyroid Antibody test(TPO) antibodies were detected at 13..while normal range is 5.So antibodies are present.
I want to know whats the truth...
Is Thyroid curable ?
Can the antibodies be brought to normal ?

But u need to fallow endocrinologist
Thyroid problem wl be in controle with thyroxine medicine , and other supportive medicine , only less doses if u take proper medicine
But need to continue treament in whole life as per my knowledge

It is an autoimmune Thyroid disorder.
In this condition, either thyroid works more or works less resulting in Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism respectively.
As your TSH is on higher side, so you might be having Hypothyroidism, so it requires supplementation with Thyronorm.

Hi with thyroid antibodies(tpo) being positive ,that means it is an autoimmune disorder.(Two types of disorder-Hashimotos and Graves).Autoimmune means your own body mechanism works against you.There is no specific cause and cure for any autoimmune disorder .Prevention and keeping your tsh levels under control is the key.So your doctor is correct.Also in some cases tpo would be positive with throid levels normal,in such cases its wait and watch approach .Only people who would have tpo positive with normal thyroid levels will be more prone to get thyroid imbalances at some point.Hope this helps.
