Don't worry.... These symptoms can be expected in some patients after the procedure, while some patients do not feel a thing after the first sitting itself. Putting it in simple words, the cause of the injury to the bone (which was the reason for your symptoms or pain or discomfort) has been eliminated by root canal treatment but the wound that has already been formed in the bone will take some time to heal and as bone is a slow healing tissue it takes a slightly longer duration in some patients. Follow the instructions given by a dentist and take the medications as prescribed and you will be fine in sometime. Warm saline rinses multiple times in a day will also be beneficial. You can delay the procedure of capping for a few days but it should not be so long that any physical damage to the tooth can occur in that duration, because that kind of injury can be Irreversible. Regards.
