ACL torn in left knee.

I fell and twisted my knee which caused the ACL to tear. I visited four Ortho doctors. Only one of them suggested a keyhole surgery. I have been in bed rest since a month. I also visited an ayurvedic doctor who said surgery isn't necessary. What should I do?

Hello Madam, u are 16 year old young active girl.. i dnt know why u are in bed rest since 1 month... dont be scared.. if u are having complete acl tear (can be confirmed on mri films/history/examination) it has to be treated with KEYHOLE surgery i.e Arthroscopic ACL RECONSTRUCTION.WITH HAMSTRING  Tendon graft if sx not done - it can lead to secondary meniscal tear with early cartilage damage..

See this should be simple. If you have instability, then arthroscopic ACL reconstruction is the answer for you. If no instability and you can run and work normally then you need not do anything..

It's not an emergency surgery so you can take your time to think. Do you have any major problem in walking, using stairs , do you feel that your knee will just slip away while walking. If any of such symptoms occur only then think of going in for surgery.
