About acid reflux

Hi all, I have been facing throat burning( u may call acid reflux, acidity, GERD don't know exactly) from 8 years when I was 29 years, before it was not tr but severe stress in my life cause that problem I don't know exactly. At that time to till date I manage that with cucumber , coconut water, buttermilk, some fruits n some lifestyle changes. But it doesn't go away at all. I am pregnant now with bed rest n counting days for delivery (within 1 week) n in pregnancy it's get worst due to indigestion but earlier also I had it. Please suggest me how to get rid of this acid reflux without tablets n some doctors told that have plenty of antioxidants. Which items contain antioxidants n how to manage my GERD throughout my life ? I am ready for all n I am a healthy eater also.

You can take PPIs for temporary relief for now ,once after delivery you can go for full evaluation with management.

It seems you are experiencing chronic throat burning and acid reflux symptoms, especially during your pregnancy. Managing GERD, particularly during this time, can be challenging. Here are some suggestions that might help: 1. Dietary Changes: Continue with the healthy foods you mentioned, such as cucumber, buttermilk, and fruits. Try to avoid spicy, acidic, and fried foods, as they can worsen reflux. Eating smaller meals more frequently can also be beneficial. 2. Hydration: Staying hydrated is essential. Coconut water can be soothing, and drinking plenty of water throughout the day may help dilute stomach acid. 3. Posture: Maintain an upright position while eating and for a few hours after meals. This can help prevent acid from flowing back into the esophagus. 4. Relaxation Techniques: Since stress can exacerbate GERD symptoms, consider incorporating relaxation techniques such as deep breathing exercises, prenatal yoga, or meditation. 5. Antioxidants: Foods high in antioxidants include berries, leafy greens, nuts, and seeds. These may help reduce inflammation and improve overall gut health. 6. Avoiding Triggers: Identify specific foods or drinks that trigger your symptoms and try to avoid them. While these strategies may provide some relief, I recommend consulting with a healthcare professional for a more personalized evaluation and treatment plan. The exact cause of your acid reflux has to be diagnosed, till then only symptomatic treatment can be done. And I am not sure antioxidants would help you in such a case,  though it may help you with overall health for sure. If your acid reflux is diagnosed as GERD then surgery is the definite treatment solution, but since you are due for delivery, it is not a possible at this point. But since you don't wish to have any medication. So my best suggestion would be, to manage it with lifestyle modification.
Health Tips
Drink plenty of water. have short but frequent meals. Avoid spicy, fatty food.
