5 years kid suffering from Cough

My son is 5 years old. Last two years he is taking Montair LC kid table daily. I consulted several doctor and everyone advise that it may cure at the age of 7 to 8. But after did some research i found this kind of problem may leeds to asthama. Also i do not know the side effect of this tablet. Kindly advise. Thank you
