Erupting 3rd molar or wisdom tooth is often associated with repeated episodes of pain & discomfort. Most commonly the flap of skin covering the tooth gets infected resulting in pain, swelling & difficulty in mouth opening. Please visit a dentist who will put you on a short course of antibiotics & pain killers. If the problem is recurring in nature, then it would be prudent to get a X-ray done to check the status of 3rd molar. At times it is advisable to get it removed. For the time being please do warm saline rinses for pain relief. Hope this helps.
