Hello Doctors, My 32 mo old daughter keeps getting Cough cold n then fever every month during winter season from first year of her birth. Though I take proper care of her clothing n food so that she don't catch cold but still she catches. Is it this common for kids to catch cold or it is because her immunity is week n i should be worried about it ? Please help me to keep her safe from frequent episode of cough n cold. She is an underweight kid weighing only 10kgs. Can being underweight can also be a reason for this. If yes then please suggest things to be done for this. Thanks

It is common to have frequent cough and cold at this age but get her checked by a pediatrician for any issues. She will stop having frequent illness after 5 years of age if no major issues. Weight is on lower side of normal. That will also improve when she is above 5-6 years. Give her hot water and hot drinks only to drink. Steam inhalation as soon as cold starts. Don't allow to watch mobile and screens. Take her out to parks daily 2 times. Give fresh fruits and vegetables. Don't give packaged foods. Give home cooked fresh foods only. Create a good atmosphere at home by listening to calming songs like bhajans etc.

Hi, It is normal for the kids to fall sick frequently. Nothing to worry. She is underweight, feed her frequently and give calorie dense food. Give 2 different fruits daily and a healthy diet to improve immunity.
