Doses of methylphenidate has to be titrated as per requirement.It has a shorter half life and hence few hours levels in the body. Generally the immediate release preparations are described as twice daily doses.
In addition, Methylphenidate modified release preparation is also available which has longer duration of action.
Your problems may be because of the drug with shorter duration of action.
Other drugs like Atomixetine. Is also used but that is be decided by your treating mental health professional.
