2 year old suffering from cough & fever

My son is 2 yrs old, last 2 days suffering from fever and cold. Consulted doc who save us wikoryl ds 5 ml 3 times a day and proxrl 50 , 2 times a day. Today he is complaining of left ear paining .. could this be due to cold. What I can do to treat it at home ??

Steam inhalation it is acute otitis media Otrivin p nasal drops one drop in each nostril thrice a day for 3 days continue rest of the medicine
