2.5 Month Old - Gassy & Frequent Motion

2024-07-17 01:51:57
Dear Doctors My baby is 2.5 months old. She is exclusively breast fed via direct feed and bottle (pumped milk since she has latching issues). Her current weight is 4.4 Kg and Birth weight was 2.3 She is very active and happy mostly However she is very gassy during midnight till morning which affects breast feeding. Also during the day she passes motion during bottle feeding or immediately post feeding. On an average she passes motion 4-6 times per day. Normal colour, pasty, pale yellow consistency in small quantities. Not runny.  There is no colic pain. I even tried Combiflora GG drops as suggested earlier but the situation is the same. Pls suggest if this is normal and if there is something i can do to ease.

Burp for atleast 15 to 20 mins after feed. Make sure bottle nipple is atleast 80 to 90 percent filled with milk as baby might swallow air otherwise. Infantile colic massages (I love you massage, round the clock, bicycling etc) Colic aid drops SOS L. Reuterii probiotic

Dear parents, Growth is normal Hold the bottle at 90 degree while feeding, Baby can pass stool from 6to 10times if not properly burped Golden yellow colour with half solid and half liquid with jeera like white particles is normal stool if fed on mother's milk. Avoid bottle feeding and try direct feeding this increases milk production

First dont give expressed breast milk through bottle. Try katori spoon feeding. Because bottle is a source of infection. For gassy distension you can give COLICAID drops. If she is passing motions normally, not watery. Then no need to worry about.
