Acute pancreatitis
He had severe abdominal ache a week back and was brought back home from hostel. On consulting, he was diagnosed with Acute Pancreatitis.His Last test for Amylase and Lipase showed 117 and 202 respectively. The first test had Amylase value at 215. His bilirubin was also slightly elevated which is now normal. Is it advisable to send him to hostel where it's unlikely that he will maintain his diet? Should we go to Hyderabad for consultation as suggested by a lot of people here in Ranchi.(no doctor has referred us to Hyderabad) . Please advice.

What is the CT report?
Is the patient pain-free?
What was the cause of pancreatitis?
Acute pancreatitis is a very serious illness.
You should see a gastroenterologist at the earliest.
