Acne scars
I am prone to acne in the nose region. After the acne subsides, it leaves a mark which doesn't go. How do I treat this?

Scars on the nose are usually hypertrophic scars. These are small bumps which the acne leaves on the nose. These can be flattened by LASER. It will have to be done in sessions so that you can recover quickly. If these are removed in a single session it will leave marks that take a very long time to heal. Unfortunately there are no creams or medicines that can help with scars. You could book an appointment with a Dermatologist who has scar removal laser like CO2 LASER and get the procedure done. Each session is spaced at about 6 week intervals. Youay require anywhere between 3 to 6 sessions depending on the size of the scars. It usually takes about one week for the skin to heal completely after each session. Warm regards. Dr. Rajdeep Mysore. Chirag Hospital Bangalore
