Accidental Mercury consumption
Today, I accidentally broke my mercury thermometer. The liquid mercury drops rolled in the floor. I collected then with bare hands and throw them away. Then I washed my hands with a small amount of water and eat my food. I didn't wash my hands with soap . Maybe some amount of mercury entered my stomach. Will anything happen to me? Will my brain get damaged.? I am a student and I am in great tension .Will I lose my memory power?

Hi
As you have came in contact with elemental liquid mercury, so don't worry much.
As liquid elemental mercury is not absorb by skin so it will not cause you any significant problem.
So don't worry there will be no brain damage or any memory problem.
It is usually chronic exposure to mercury ( usually other then elemental liquid mercury form) vapour that is hazardous.
